Outliers 03:28
Outliers Short term memory Has always been my friend and my enemy Every new day is just a new step away from a past that I can’t keep a part of me I can’t lift the mist So I wander through wistful and steadily Forgetful of my days So I’m hopeful for all that remains So I’m hopeful for all that remains Help me to remember Lord knows I’ll forget Help me to surrender All my time to you All these memories, they tiptoe away from me silently And it’s up to a year before they choose to reveal they’ve left me alone here entirely We all search for truth by stumbling around for our roots And it’s the times that we find them that we keep as timeless And I hope I can be that for you Yes, I hope I will be that for you Help me to remember Lord knows I’ll forget Help me to surrender All my time to you

Riverbank 04:55
Riverbank If we stand in a circle and all hold our hands tight Do you think that we’ll feel heaven? Do you think we’ll be alright? I don’t know, but we should try And if we reach the river that you say will be there Will we jump in it together? I’m afraid I may be scared Oh no, we mustn’t touch the water Yeah, oh oooooh And have you got your two coins? I have sure got mine We’ll hand them to the boat man when it’s the right time
And then we’ll be on our way to the other side And all our friends and loved ones Who are with us here no more Are awaiting our arrival on that distant shore And we’ll be with them all our restful days Yeah, oh oooooh Don’t look him in the eyes Don’t look him in the eyes Until we reach the other side Yeah, oh ooooh

Weight 03:26
Weight The clock on my wall is ticking slow It’s hard to tell if it’s movin at all It may have broke or time just may be quittin’ My whitewashed walls are turning grey It’s not from smoke, not from decay The room just wants to feel a little darker So won’t you please, please let me out It hurts my cause to scream and shout And I’m pretty sure this door’s unlocked and open I need a place to be to sleep these thoughts away I need some space to breathe to alleviate the weight So cast me a line or cast me out Twiddling thumbs ain’t what I’m about I think I’d take a nice long walk if I had a jacket The coffee in my cup is two weeks old I’m getting vitamins from all the mold And I’d make a new pot if I had the motivation I need a place to be to sleep these thoughts away I need some space to breathe to alleviate the weight

Half Assed Love Oh you better love or leave me And pick one completely I don’t want no more of your half assed love Yeah, you better love or leave me And pick one completely I don’t want no more of your half assed love Where’s the fire that burned so bright so bright in a dark street light Where’s the smile that seemed so shy when you lift your lip on the left hand side Where is the softness in your touch Where is the laugh that I miss so much Where is the lightness in those big brown eyes Where is the truth when I bring this up And you look at me like a newborn pup And you pull me close and tell me that we’re fine Oh you better love or leave me And pick one completely I don’t want no more of your half assed love Yeah, you better love or leave me And pick one completely I don’t want no more of your half assed love Where’s the giggle when I tickle your thigh Now you just stare and you narrow your eyes Where is the feeling that felt so right Don’t you dare stay just to be polite Where is the lace that you used to wear Did you up and lose my favorite pair? Are you saving them for some other god-damned guy? Where is the truth when I bring this up And you look at me like a newborn pup And you pull me close and you kiss me with a lie Oh you better love or leave me And pick one completely I don’t want no more of your half assed love Yeah, you better love or leave me And pick one completely I don’t want no more of your half assed love

True Poets 03:20
True Poets The true poets motion is based on devotion to living a life full of woe You can’t ever settle until you’re unsettled And seeking out your next rabbit hole The true artists litmus test is not in trying to be the best But in creating when the circumstance prevents it It’s graffiti on the Berlin Wall, or dancing when you’ve had a fall Or raising up your voice in songs of protest Thought it’s hard at the best of times No, it’s hard at the best of times But most things worth doing in life are so The true business man is found Not at the top but near the ground Scrambling for the scraps of his lost fortune Well the pain of loss is mixed with shame But he knows it’s part of the game And he lets it fuel the fire for his next venture And the true beauty’s test of class is not measured in mirror glass But in how she holds herself when beauty fails her When wrinkles crawl up to her eyes Does she reach out for surgeons knives Or wear them as a source of pride in wisdom? Thought it’s hard at the best of times No, it’s hard at the best of times But most things worth doing in life are so Thought it’s hard at the best of times No, it’s hard at the best of times But most things worth doing in life are so

Darkness 04:03
Darkness Was it your darkness that made you shy? Was is the pocket where your secrets lie? We should be lovers by now We kissed once and then forgot how Your joy could me mine Your pain could be mine Your love we could share Your darkness could be spared Was it your darkness that made you hide? Was is the pocket where your secrets lie? We should be lovers by now We kissed once and then forgot how Your joy could me mine Your pain could be mine Your love we could share Your darkness could be spared

Walls 04:28
Walls Ooooh, oooooh, ooooh Speak to me in lower tones The weight of this could break my bones And if I don’t reply I hope that you know why I’ve never known a floor to captivate But I can’t yet look up at your face And so I guess I’ll have to stall By staring at the….
Walls The walls The walls And as I stared a thought occurred What if these four walls have heard Us whisper in the night, make love, and even fight
Well I’d ask each one whose side it’s on And if they say on your or say we’ve drawn I wouldn’t hesitate at all to dismiss them as just… Walls Just walls Just walls When I get the courage to look up at your face Gather the strength to leave this place I take a moment and I gesture to the walls I say they’ve seen us rise and now they’ve seen us fall

Heave Me Heaven Kerosene fuel the fire And whiskey fuel our hearts Of all the scenes we desire Oh this one is our art The liberty of our swallows Shall carry us away For we have been here tomorrow Before we were today So heave me heaven And leave me light Drink me sorrow And pour me night A lock of wandering hair Points me back toward despair But the smell of spirits in the air Relieves me of such cares Oh we’re standing over wood and fire To watch these candles burn But we’re peering out through the choir Yeah you just sit and wait your turn So heave me heaven And leave me light Drink me sorrow And pour me night (I have not a care, not a care, not a care for this I have not a care, not a care, not a care for death) So heave me heaven And leave me light Drink me sorrow And pour me night
